 South Gulf Cove is located just off State Road 771 between Port Charlotte and Boca Grande. This upscale community has approximately 55 miles of navigable canals that provide access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico. All the canals converge into the Interceptor Lagoon, where boaters can run full speed towards the mouth of the Mayakka River. Some properties in Gulf Cove are designated as have sailboat access, meaning that there are no bridges to the harbor.
There is easy access to Port Charlotte, Boca Grande, and Englewood from South Gulf Cove. Within minutes from this tropical paradise are white sand beaches, golfing, shopping and fine dining. There are also miles of biking and hiking trails near South Gulf Cove. Area residents love the access to amenities that South Gulf Cove provides. Boca Grande and its Caribbean like waters are only a short drive to the Southwest.
There are some very nice homes in this area. Many home owners have boating access right from the docks in their own back yards. It is a relatively new development and most homes are less than 10 years old. Builders are constructing an array of beautiful homes and lots range in price from 60k to over 500k. Most lots with saltwater access are over 200k. Depending on how far the home is from the Interceptor Lagoon the prices will raise the closer to the lagoon that you are. The closeness to the lagoon dictates how short of a boat ride it will take to get to the open waters of Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico.
